Tried and Trusted

  • If you're considering going down the track of a restoration you will find members in the club have a wealth of knowledge, many having completed full restorations on their cars.   Ask around, we are keen to share information we have gleaned through our own trial and error (and botch-ups) during a rebuild.
  • Existing members are encouraged to send in their stories for publication here, as well as their photos to share with others.  Please check the events page for scheduled outings, and we welcome you to let us know if you have an activity you think would be of interest to other members.

Whilst The Auckland Corvette Club does not in any way guarantee the following people/companies. The people/companies listed below have been used by club members and these members have found their service & workmanship satisfactory.

Corvette Parts & Servicing: Colin & Robyn Schischka own and operate Covette Parts NZ in Tauranga. They are extremely helpful and make it so easy to use them I don't know why you would use anyone else. Contact them through their website on the links page.  Recommended by KK.

Paintwork: Murray Clemments has had his corvette completely repainted by John Lisle at Cascade Auto Refinishers Ph (09) 5764345. Murray advises he is very happy with end result.

Seat Belts: I have found a company in Australia that can either refurbish or rewebb your original belts in the original color. You can contact Darryn Ashwell 09 8324 828 or 021 2381721 for costings.

Photography:  Auckland Corvette Club engaged Scott Photography to document the 2010 Nationals in Hamilton.  CD’s of the event may be purchased using the order form.  Private photography is available by contacting Scott direct: scott.eyre.photo@gmail.com ph.027 2530935

Gauges Rebuilding: Dave MacInnes had an issue with his speedometer on his 68 Vette and had trouble finding someone to help.  He found a guy in Florida: Bill Harrison from Harrison Speedometers (just Google it) - he specialises in rebuilding Vette gauges including speedometers. Dave highly recommends him - he went the extra mile and was great to work with.

Peter Dodd recommends the following:

Auto Electrician:  Hart Auto electrical ( Papakura) 09 299 8669

DifferentialsSteelie Gears in Otahuhu 09 276 6297. Excellent service, knowledgeable and very good price.

Tyres:  All Hours Tyre Service, 2 Margaret Williams Drive, off Hunua Rd Papakura, 09 296 6394, carry Bridgestone tyres. Best price I have come across.  Very helpful and customer friendly.  I had an issue with our mechanic giving them the wrong tyre type for our Holden, they replaced the tyres for the correct ones no problem or issue whatsoever.  Excellent guys.

Panel/Paint/Auto Electrical & Mechanical Work
Our club member Gavin White has recommended Kayton Coughey at Real Rides for all things Corvette
They are specialists in Hot Rods, Classics & Muscle Cars.
When Gavin purchased his car it had oil leaks, leaking hoses, stuffed aircon, door seals perished, switches not working, broken steering wheel, scratches & dents on almost every panel.  Real Rides repaired all these things.  Excellent knowledge, good service and fine workmanship.
